EDGE (Educational Destination Games Enterprises) is a new boardgame that takes you on a journey to favorite travel destinations.
- EDGE travels to beautiful Lake Tahoe, a natural wonder in Northern California. Just a few hours from San Francisco, Lake Tahoe offers visitors pristine wilderness, fascinating history, world-class recreational sports and breathtaking scenery.
- We’re delighted to also be taking you to the California Missions, a fascinating slice of California history. The Missions date back to the late 1700s, when Spain’s King Charles decided to expand his reach in the New World. Yet the Missions were actually established by Catholic priests, who were more interested in converting unsuspecting Native Americans to Christianity. Those early Missions grew up to become many of California’s biggest and most interesting cities–San Diego, San Jose, Monterey, Carmel, Santa Cruz, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
So roll the dice and let the games begin!
As you travel around the board, you’ll learn fascinating anecdotal information about your destination. The first person to cross the finish line with the most points wins. But EDGE isn’t about winning or losing. Ask any travel junkie—it’s the journey that we remember.

Many missions, including San Juan Capistrano, grew grapes to make wine and brandy. It was not just for celebration mass--wine was the padres’ table beverage.
The missions recruited Native American tribes to help them establish their communities. For San Francisco de Asis, now San Francisco, it was the Ohlone tribe.
